Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam Champion, has expressed his deep relief and satisfaction with his retirement from professional tennis. The Swiss legend, who recently shot a promotional video with Rafael Nadal for Louis Vuitton, emphasized his contentment with stepping away from the sport permanently.

In a candid conversation with Nadal during the shoot, Federer reflected on his career and stated, “I am very proud and happy about my playing days, but I am also so happy that it’s over.” The 42-year-old announced his retirement in September 2022, citing challenges with injuries and surgeries in recent years as a major factor in his decision.

Despite his illustrious career and numerous achievements, Federer revealed that he does not miss playing professional tennis. In an interview with GQ, he expressed feeling “really at peace” after retiring and acknowledged that he can no longer compete at the highest level due to physical and mental challenges.

Federer’s career spanned over two decades, starting professionally at the age of sixteen in 1998. His breakthrough came in 2003 when he won his first Wimbledon Grand Slam singles championship, setting the stage for a remarkable career that included 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

As fans and supporters eagerly await his return, Federer remains firm in his decision to retire and focus on other aspects of his life. His legacy in tennis is secure, and his impact on the sport will be remembered for generations to come.
