Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a thrilling four-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in a high-octane clash at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli were the heroes for RCB as they chased down a target of 148 with ease.

Du Plessis played a captain’s knock, scoring 64 runs, while Kohli provided solid support with his 42-run contribution. The duo’s partnership of 92 runs in just 35 balls set the tone for RCB’s successful chase. However, a late collapse saw RCB in trouble at 117-6 before Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh guided them home with an unbeaten stand of 35 runs.

Earlier, RCB’s bowlers set up the victory by restricting GT to 147 all out in 19.3 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers, removing the openers early and putting GT on the back foot.

With this win, RCB registered their fourth victory of the season and climbed from the bottom of the table to seventh place. On the other hand, GT suffered their seventh loss in 11 matches and slipped to ninth place in the points table.

The IPL 2024 season is heating up, with RCB still in contention for a playoff spot. Fans can expect more thrilling encounters as the tournament progresses. Stay tuned for more updates on IPL 2024, including top performers and the latest standings.
