Royal expert Michael Cole has revealed a “rare honour” that King Charles bestowed upon Meghan Markle before she departed from her royal duties. In a discussion with Nana Akua on GBN America, Cole delved into the complexities of Meghan’s relationship with the Royal Family and the British public.

Cole expressed his confusion over where things went wrong for Meghan, stating, “She could not have been welcomed more into this country or the Royal Family.” He highlighted the special gesture made by King Charles when he offered to walk Meghan down the aisle during her wedding to Prince Harry, as her own father was estranged from her.

The late Queen also made efforts to befriend Meghan’s mother, Doria, showing support and acceptance towards Meghan. However, despite these initial gestures of goodwill, Meghan and Harry decided to step down from their royal duties and move to the US in 2020.

Since then, Meghan has been vocal about the challenges she faced within the royal family, and Harry has also criticized the behavior of his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, towards Meghan. In his memoir, Harry revealed that William’s comments about Meghan being an actress hurt him, and he felt that William always had reservations about their relationship.

The revelations made by Cole shed light on the complexities and tensions within the royal family, as Meghan and Harry continue to navigate their new life outside of the traditional royal duties.
