Royal News: Michael Imoudu Institute Empowers 500 Youths with Entrepreneurship Training

The Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) in Ilorin recently conducted a training session for 500 youths from across the country on entrepreneurship skills. The Director General of MINILS, Comrade Issa Aremu, emphasized the importance of equipping young people with vocational and entrepreneurship skills to enhance their employability and promote self-employment.

The training covered a range of skills including Cinematography & Photography, Carpentry & Woodwork, Tie & Dye, with the aim of empowering the participants to become self-employed and create job opportunities for others. Aremu highlighted the institute’s commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s agenda on youth empowerment, job creation, and economic growth.

The participants were selected without any bias or discrimination based on gender, and they will receive financial benefits in addition to the skills acquired during the training. Aremu called on the government to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive by providing necessary support and equipment to entrepreneurs and artisans.

The institute has also partnered with various organizations to continue empowering youth in the country. The participants were advised to take the training seriously, embrace the opportunity to learn new skills, and strive towards greatness. The Head of Department of Entrepreneurship Development Department, Mr. Ajayi Adeyemi, urged the participants to be focused and use the experience gained during the training to make a positive impact in their communities.
