Rumored features, supported devices, and other details of watchOS 11

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Apple Watch users are eagerly anticipating the upcoming release of watchOS 11, set to be unveiled at WWDC 2024 on June 10. The new software update is expected to bring a host of new AI features, which Apple is reportedly dubbing Apple Intelligence.

While the official release won’t happen until September, alongside the rumored Apple Watch X, users can expect some exciting announcements at the keynote event in June. Despite reports of “fairly minor” software changes to accompany the launch of the Apple Watch X, there are still anticipated features that will enhance the overall Apple Watch experience.

With the release of watchOS 10 in September 2023, Apple introduced a refreshed look for its apps, improved display utilization, and faster app performance. The addition of a new Smart Stack and changes to the Control Center functionality were also highlights of the update.

Rumors surrounding watchOS 11 suggest a focus on AI improvements, particularly with Siri enhancements based on leaks related to iOS 18. Additionally, reports indicate upgrades to the Health app, including blood pressure data management and improved cycle tracking for pregnant users.

Another anticipated feature is RCS support, which is expected to enhance messaging capabilities with Android devices. While third-party watch faces remain a wishlist item for many users, the release of watchOS 11 is expected to follow Apple’s typical software cadence, with a public beta program preceding the official launch in September.

Compatible with the latest Apple Watch models, watchOS 11 is poised to bring exciting new features and enhancements to the popular wearable device. Stay tuned for more updates at WWDC on June 10.
