Russia launches offensive on Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, unleashing a barrage of attacks

Russia launched a surprise ground offensive into Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, pummelling over 30 towns and villages, causing the evacuation of nearly 6,000 people. The Ukrainian army admitted that Russia was achieving tactical success after the assault, which included artillery and mortar attacks in border villages like Lyptsi and the town of Vovchansk.
