Ryan Garcia’s team finds supplements used in Devin Haney fight tested positive for ostarine contamination

Boxer Ryan Garcia may have a case of tainted supplements, according to a statement released by his legal team. Samples of two supplements declared for the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) ahead of Garcia’s bout against Devin Haney have tested positive for ostarine contamination. This development supports Garcia’s claims that he is a victim of tainted supplements following his recent victory.

The lab results from the Sports Medicine Research & Testing Laboratory (SMRTL) showed one supplement detected in the range of 70-2200 picograms per gram of ostarine, and the other at approximately 660-830 picograms per gram. Garcia’s team emphasized that he has never intentionally used any banned substances and has always been committed to fair competition.

Garcia, 25, tested positive for ostarine in two VADA drug tests related to his April 20 bout against Haney. Despite his victory over Haney, Garcia’s win could be overturned if he is found guilty of doping. Haney’s team is pushing for the result to be reversed into a disqualification victory.

Garcia’s team has announced a press conference for early June to provide more insight and answer questions regarding the situation. The boxer could face fines, suspension, and the loss of his victory if he is not cleared of any wrongdoing. Ostarine is a banned substance that has been linked to tainted supplement cases in combat sports in the past.
