New Delhi: Gujarat Titans player Sai Sudharsan has made history in the Indian Premier League 2024 by becoming the fastest Indian player to score 1000 runs in the premier tournament in terms of number of innings taken. Sudharsan achieved this milestone in just 25 innings, breaking the record previously held by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who took 31 innings to reach the same feat.
In a crucial game against Chennai Super Kings, Sudharsan played a sensational innings, scoring his maiden IPL century. Alongside Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill, Sudharsan formed a formidable partnership of 210 runs, leading their team to a massive total of 231 runs in 20 overs.
Sudharsan’s innings of 103 runs off 51 balls included five boundaries and seven sixes, while Gill contributed with a 55-ball 104-run knock, featuring 9 boundaries and 6 sixes. Their partnership proved to be crucial in securing a strong position for the Titans in the match.
With this record-breaking performance, Sudharsan now stands as the joint-third fastest player overall to reach 1000 runs in the IPL, alongside Matthew Hayden. Only Shaun Marsh and Lendl Simmons have achieved this milestone at a quicker rate.
