Saint Vincent de Paul inaugurates new temporary housing facility with ribbon-cutting ceremony

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has unveiled a new temporary housing facility, De Paul Manor, aimed at providing shelter for 100 unhoused seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities. The facility also includes an animal clinic by Midwestern University and a program to assist residents in securing stable employment.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for De Paul Manor was attended by Chuck Carefoot, the southwest region president of Ryan Companies, who expressed excitement about the exceptional services and resources that will now be available to those in need. The Workforce Development Program will play a crucial role in helping residents acquire the necessary skills for stable employment.

Modeled after the successful Ozanam Manor, De Paul Manor is expected to have a significant impact on the community. The Bob and Marion Auray Companion Animal Clinic will provide services for pets of the homeless or at-risk individuals, further enhancing the support system offered by the facility.

Funded by the State of Arizona, the City of Phoenix, Maricopa County, and private donations, De Paul Manor is a collaborative effort to address homelessness in the region. As part of the Housing 2025 campaign, St. Vincent de Paul aims to house 2,025 homeless individuals by 2025, with De Paul Manor playing a crucial role in achieving this goal.

Shannon Clancy, SVdP’s CEO, emphasized the importance of providing dignified and loving housing for vulnerable populations, highlighting the success of transitional housing initiatives in ensuring long-term housing stability. With the launch of De Paul Manor, SVdP continues its mission of assisting those in need and fostering community engagement.
