Samer Majali, CEO of RJ, Named as One of the Top Leaders in Middle East Tourism and Travel for 2024

Samer Majali, the Vice Chairman/CEO of Royal Jordanian, has been recognized as one of Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Travel & Tourism Leaders for 2024. With over 40 years of industry experience, Majali has led Royal Jordanian since March 2021, overseeing impressive growth and expansion.

Under Majali’s leadership, Royal Jordanian reported total assets of $1.3 billion and revenues of $1 billion in 2023. The airline also expanded its routes to include destinations such as Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Algeria, Brussels, and Bahrain, serving 3.6 million travelers through 33,367 flights in 2023 alone.

Prior to his role at Royal Jordanian, Majali founded Plane Vision, a consultancy in Bahrain focusing on business strategy and organization. He also served as the CEO of SaudiGulf Airlines from 2013 to 2019 and as a senior advisor to the chairman of Oman Air in 2013.

Majali’s industry leadership extends beyond his role at Royal Jordanian, as he previously served as the Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors from 2008 to 2009 and as a member of the IATA Board of Governors from 2005 to 2012.
