Samsung is stepping up its game in the health and fitness arena with the announcement of new AI-based features coming to the Galaxy Watch later this year. The tech giant revealed on Wednesday that the smartwatch will soon offer personalized health scores, tips, sleep indicators, and suggested workout routines, all powered by on-device AI.

One of the most exciting upgrades is the Energy Score, which will provide users with comprehensive health insights by analyzing various personal metrics such as sleep data, physical activity, and heart rate variability. The Galaxy Watch will also introduce Wellness Tips, offering personalized insights, motivational tips, and guidance to help users achieve their fitness goals.

Sleep tracking is getting a major boost with new AI-enhanced algorithms that can analyze sleep movement, latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate. Additionally, hardcore runners and cyclists will benefit from new heart rate zone metrics and Functional Threshold Power metrics to optimize their training.

The Galaxy Watch will also introduce a Workout Routine feature that allows users to create personalized exercise regimens and a Race feature to challenge users to beat their previous times on a set route.

Samsung hinted that the Galaxy Watch may not be the only device to receive these new AI-based health features, teasing more integrations across its Galaxy portfolio in the near future. The new features will be part of the One UI 6 Watch update, with a beta program set to launch in June for a limited number of Watch owners. Stay tuned for more updates on Samsung’s health and fitness innovations.
