Sanjeev Wins Gold Medal in Greco Roman 55kg at Federation Cup

Sanjeev, a 23-year-old wrestler from Delhi, showcased his dominance in the Greco Roman 55kg category at the Federation Cup wrestling tournament. Trained under coach Kuldeep Singh in Sonipat, Sanjeev put on a stellar performance throughout the competition, culminating in a gold medal victory.

In the final match, Sanjeev faced off against Manish and quickly took the lead with a 3-0 advantage. Despite Manish’s efforts, Sanjeev continued to assert his superiority with another take-down, extending his lead to 5-0. Unfortunately, Manish sustained an injury to his left ankle during the bout and had to concede, granting Sanjeev the gold medal.

Another standout wrestler at the tournament was Pravin Patil from Kolhapur, who triumphed in the 63kg category after a thrilling comeback. Despite initially trailing 0-2, Patil staged a remarkable turnaround and defeated Sunny Kumar with a final score of 6-2, thanks to his strategic take-downs.

The Federation Cup also saw a number of other talented wrestlers clinch medals in various weight categories, showcasing the depth of talent in the sport. Sanjeev and Patil’s victories serve as a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport of wrestling.
