Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) made a triumphant return to the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, showcasing the wonders of Sarawak to potential tourists from the Middle East region. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 6th to 9th May 2024, provided a global platform for STB to highlight Sarawak’s diverse attractions, including its rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and local communities.
One of the highlights of the event was the Update Seminar on 9th May at the Novotel World Trade Centre, where promotional activities on Sarawak products were conducted in collaboration with Royal Brunei Airline. With the theme of “Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,” STB aimed to position Sarawak as a premier ecotourism and responsible tourism destination on the global map.
STB CEO Sharzede Datu Hj Salleh Askor expressed excitement about the opportunity to attract more Middle Eastern tourists to Sarawak, noting the increase in visitor arrivals from the region in recent years. Visitors to Sarawak’s booth at the ATM were treated to daily dance performances showcasing the region’s diverse cultural heritage, as well as promotions for the iconic Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF).
