Saudi Arabia takes the lead in condemning Israeli assaults on Rafah

The Azka Farmers Market in Jeddah, held at Hayy Jameel in collaboration between Azka Foods and Art Jameel, was a resounding success, connecting the wider community with local vendors and farmers dedicated to sustainability and ethical food practices.

The event, which took place on May 24 and 25, provided visitors with the opportunity to enjoy farm-fresh produce, eco-friendly products, and specialized programs showcasing the region’s agricultural diversity. The market featured a diverse array of farmers and producers from around the Kingdom, offering a wide selection of high-quality products.

Ahmad Zaki Kamel, the founder of Azka Foods and azkabasket.com, expressed his excitement about the growth of the market, which started with just six vendors and has now expanded to 55 farm vendors, producers, and chefs. The market has evolved to include producers from all 13 regions of Saudi Arabia, providing a larger selection of produce and products for the community to enjoy.

Kamel emphasized the importance of the market in supporting local producers and creating a platform for them to showcase their high-quality products. The Azka Basket website also allows consumers to stay connected with the producers and receive deliveries twice a week, supporting the local farming community.

Participants like Sami Magrabi, co-founder of Manahil Al-Magrabi, highlighted the importance of events like the Azka Farmers Market in allowing them to operate on a larger scale and connect with a wider audience. The market provided a platform for vendors to showcase their products and gain exposure in the community.

Sumaia Showail, founder of Aysh Academy, and Fatima Nawawi, founder of Shamsa products, also shared their experiences at the market, emphasizing the positive impact it has had on their businesses and the community.

Overall, the Azka Farmers Market was a celebration of local produce, sustainability, and ethical food practices. The market not only provided a platform for local vendors and farmers to showcase their products but also offered educational talks, workshops, and film screenings aimed at promoting sustainability and well-being in the community.
