Two Saudi students, Afrah bin Jubeir and Jawaher Al-Anzi, have showcased their coding skills and creativity by participating in Apple’s Swift Student Challenge and emerging as top winners. Jubeir, passionate about marine life, developed an app called “Fin’s Adventure” to raise awareness about ocean preservation and the impact of plastic pollution. The game features a fish character named Fin navigating through an ocean filled with plastic pieces, educating players on the importance of keeping the oceans clean.
On the other hand, Al-Anzi created an app called “My Child” to help children with speech impediments, inspired by her own experience of overcoming a stutter as a child. Her app aims to assist individuals of all ages in improving their speech fluency and will soon be available for download on the App Store.
Both students underwent vocational training at the Apple Developer Academy, enhancing their software skills and understanding of advanced technologies before participating in the challenge. Jubeir and Al-Anzi’s success in the competition not only highlights their talent but also underscores the potential of technology to address social issues and make a positive impact on society.
