Georgia Tech is set to host the 10th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) from May 29-31 at the DeSoto Hotel in Savannah, GA, USA. This conference will bring together industry leaders and academics to discuss the future of logistics, supply chains, and freight transportation. The focus will be on innovative breakthroughs and solutions that aim to enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in global freight operations.

The Physical Internet concept envisions a logistics network modeled after the digital internet, where standardized containers optimize routes and resources for seamless goods transfer. Dr. Benoit Montreuil from Georgia Tech highlights the potential of the Physical Internet to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption while improving efficiency.

Keynote sessions at IPIC 2024 will cover topics like intermodal transportation challenges and the integration of smart construction techniques with the principles of the Physical Internet. Industry leaders like Michael O. Miller and Josh Raglin will share insights on increasing intermodal transportation within regional freight systems.

Additionally, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has awarded VyStar a grant to launch a Credit-Builder Loan program, providing members with affordable alternatives to high-interest loans.
