Scholarships awarded by the Panhandle Research Extension and Education Center

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Panhandle Research, Extension, and Education Center recently awarded three students with $1,000 scholarships to any Nebraska University Campus. Delaney Pohl, Jadon Skavdahl, and William Skavdahl were the recipients of this prestigious scholarship, and all three are planning to attend UNL.

Delaney Pohl, a 2024 graduate of Bridgeport High School, has her sights set on pursuing a degree in agronomy. She expressed her desire to use this degree to pursue a career in soil science in the state. Jadon Skavdahl, also a 2024 graduate from Sioux County High School, plans to major in applied sciences through the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at UNL. He aims to carry on his family’s ranching legacy in western Nebraska and hopes to return to the Panhandle to ranch after graduation.

The Panhandle Research, Extension, and Education Center in Scottsbluff is proud to sponsor these talented students and support them in achieving their academic goals. In other news, Angus Media recently named Benjie Lemon as the president of the organization. With 18 years of experience in the equine industry, Lemon is well-equipped to lead Angus Media in delivering industry-leading information and marketing to the beef industry.

With his extensive experience and strong roots in the cattle industry, Lemon is poised to make a significant impact in his new role. The future looks bright for both the scholarship recipients and Angus Media under Lemon’s leadership.
