Share, Scotland’s leading provider of housing industry training and accreditations, has announced a major expansion into the private sector to support landlords and letting agents facing increased regulation and challenges. Founded in 1985, Share has been a key player in providing training and support to Scotland’s social housing sector, delivering over 350 courses in the past year alone.

The move comes at a crucial time as landlords and letting agents are grappling with new legislation, such as the Repairing Standard, which came into effect in March. Daryl McIntosh, Chief Executive of Share, emphasized the importance of upskilling professionals in the private rental sector to improve service quality and reputation.

Share’s expansion includes offering bespoke courses in partnership with accredited bodies like CIH, City & Guilds, and SQA. The organization’s innovative membership model provides discounted training, qualifications, e-Learning, and networking opportunities to support workforce development in both the private and social housing sectors.

Daryl highlighted the lack of quality training materials for landlords and letting agents and expressed Share’s commitment to raising the standard of housing in Scotland by providing professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge. The Scottish Government has also recognized Share’s training, allowing it to count towards the mandatory CPD requirements for letting agents.

As a registered charity, Share reinvests all profits back into its services, reflecting its values of being supportive, passionate, and excellent in all endeavors. The expansion into the private rental sector marks a significant milestone for Share as it continues to make a positive impact on the housing industry in Scotland.
