The 34-year-old artist waived his right to contest extradition in California and is now being handed over to authorities in Florida, as reported by the Associated Press.

The arrest came after Kingston was held in a Southern California jail on Tuesday, May 28. Officials are working with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to facilitate Kingston’s return to Florida. The rapper’s troubles began when police and a SWAT team raided his home in Southwest Ranches, Florida on May 23. The investigation also involved Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, who was arrested on numerous fraud and theft charges.

In response to the situation, Kingston took to his Instagram Stories to reassure his fans, stating, “People love negative energy. I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

Kingston’s attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, emphasized that they are working to have him return to Florida promptly to address the charges. The duo is facing allegations of conducting a scheme to defraud a jeweler and various financial institutions, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. Turner has posted bail and is not in police custody, while Kingston faces multiple counts of fraud.

The arrest warrant was issued on May 20, leading to the raid and subsequent arrests on May 23. Kingston and Turner are now set to face the legal consequences of their alleged fraudulent activities. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
