Sean Kingston Arrested in California Following SWAT Raid on His Florida Residence

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Rapper Sean Kingston found himself in hot water as he was arrested in California on fraud charges, following a SWAT team raid on his South Florida home. The artist, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was taken into custody on a Florida warrant near Fort Irwin, California, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier in the day, Kingston’s 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, was also arrested after authorities raided their mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida. The specific charges have not been disclosed due to an ongoing investigation.

Reporters on the scene witnessed authorities removing items from the mansion and noted the presence of expensive sports cars surrounding the property. Kingston took to his Instagram Story to reassure fans, stating, “People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother! … My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

Representatives for Kingston have not yet commented on the situation. However, attorney Robert Rosenblatt, representing Kingston and his mother, expressed confidence in a successful resolution for both parties.

The arrest of Turner was reportedly linked to a lawsuit filed against Kingston in February, accusing him of defrauding a Florida company that installed a massive television in his home.

Despite his legal troubles, Kingston remains best known for his hit single “Beautiful Girls” from 2007, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He has also collaborated with artists like Justin Bieber on tracks such as “Eenie Meenie.” Kingston has not released a major label album in over a decade.
