**Search Intensifies for Missing British TV Presenter Michael Mosley in Greece**
ATHENS – The search for Michael Mosley, the British TV presenter and health expert, has entered its third day on the Greek island of Symi, with rescue teams expanding their efforts in hopes of locating him. Mosley, 67, known for his advocacy on fasting and healthy living, has been missing since Wednesday afternoon, sparking a wide-scale operation to find him.
Mosley was last seen at 1:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, embarking on a walk from Agios Nikolaos beach to the village of Pedi. Notably, he left without his mobile phone, complicating search efforts. The route, known for its scenic but challenging terrain, has become the focus of the search operation.
Authorities, including the police, fire brigade, and volunteers, have been combing the island and its surrounding waters. The search has been supported by helicopters, drones, and rescue dogs, covering both land and sea to find any trace of Mosley.
On Saturday, the search efforts shifted towards a rocky area opposite Agios Nikolaos, between Pedi and Agia Marina beach. “The search continues,” said spokeswoman Constantina Dimoglidou. “We are investigating on foot another rocky part, the wider area of Agia Marina.”
Security camera footage from Pedi has provided a glimmer of hope, showing an individual believed to be Mosley walking with an umbrella at 1:49 p.m. on Wednesday. This sighting suggests he may have ventured off the coastal path safely.
Symi Mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas mentioned that the footage has helped map out Mosley’s possible route, which he described as “unconventional” and challenging, especially given the searing temperatures. “He chose paths which are very difficult to walk in such temperatures and under any circumstances,” Papakalodoukas said.
Symi, a picturesque island in the eastern Aegean, is known for its remote beaches and rugged landscape. Despite the island’s beauty, the search for Mosley has cast a shadow over the community, with residents and authorities hoping for his safe return.
As the search enters its critical phase, the international community watches, hoping for positive news about the beloved TV presenter and doctor. Mosley’s work in health and wellness has touched many lives, and his safe return is eagerly awaited.
