At 111 years old, Englishman John Alfred Tinniswood has been officially recognized as the world’s oldest man by Guinness World Records. Tinniswood, a retired accountant and great-grandfather, credits his longevity to luck, moderation, and a weekly indulgence in fish and chips.

Born in Liverpool in 1912, just months after the sinking of the Titanic, Tinniswood has lived through two world wars and served in the British Army Pay Corps during World War II. Despite his advanced age, he remains in good health, attributing his well-being to a balanced lifestyle.
