Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming Netflix comedy, “Unfrosted,” is making waves in a unique way this weekend at the IndyCar race in Long Beach. Rookie driver Linus Lundqvist will be behind the wheel of Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 8 car, which will be painted to look like a Pop-Tart in honor of the movie.
The car will feature the texture of an unfrosted Pop-Tart, along with images of Seinfeld and some of the movie’s cast members. This partnership, in collaboration with Ganassi sponsor American Legion, is aimed at promoting the film’s May 3 release.
“Unfrosted” marks Seinfeld’s directorial debut, and the comedian has been vocal about his excitement for the project since 2018. The movie, co-written by Seinfeld, boasts an impressive cast including Jim Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, and more. Set in 1963 Michigan, the film tells the story of the year before Pop-Tarts were introduced to the market.
Seinfeld expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with Chip Ganassi Racing and The American Legion, highlighting the importance of supporting American veterans. The American Legion’s involvement in the promotion is part of their mission to raise awareness about mental health issues and prevent veteran suicide.
The partnership between Seinfeld, “Unfrosted,” and Netflix provides a unique opportunity to reach a new audience and shed light on the important work being done to support veterans. The use of humor in the project aligns with The American Legion’s efforts to destigmatize mental health treatment and provide support for those in need.
