Seneca Navy Team Gears Up for World’s Most Challenging Rowing Competition

Rochester, N.Y. — The World’s Toughest Row is set to test the limits of endurance and teamwork as rowers from around the world gear up for the ultimate challenge. One team, in particular, is making waves as they prepare to row over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

Leading the charge is Ryan Mulflur, a senior captain of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges rowing team. Standing at 5’10” tall, Mulflur may not be the biggest on the team, but his determination and dedication have earned him a spot on the prestigious Team Seneca Navy.

Teaming up with David Ranney, Moritz Marchant, and Anthony Carella, Mulflur is ready to take on the grueling race that will require two rowers on and two rowers off for 30 to 40 days. The race, scheduled for the end of 2025, will push the team to their limits as they navigate the unpredictable waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

But for Mulflur, the challenge goes beyond just rowing. It’s about the bonds formed with his teammates and the opportunity to give back to their community. The team is fundraising for their hometown charities, including the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva, where they all first met.

As they prepare for the World’s Toughest Row, Mulflur and his teammates are focused on the physical, mental, and financial preparations needed to tackle this monumental task.
