President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s recent visit to Mbour 4 uncovered a shocking revelation about politicians owning vast expanses of land in the New Town of Thiès-Fandène-Notto-Keur Mousseu. The President expressed his dismay at the disparity between the land owned by these politicians and the limited land available for the city itself.

Investigations by the daily Bés bi revealed that prominent figures like Idrissa Seck, Pape Diop, and Abdou Mbow were among the beneficiaries of these land allocations. Idrissa Seck was found to own a 13-hectare plot, while Pape Diop and Arona Dia each had 10 hectares of land. Other notable personalities like Youssou Ndour, Antoine Diome, and Kalidou Wagué also held significant amounts of land in the area.

In total, these 11 personalities were reported to collectively own a staggering 77 hectares of land in the New Town of Thiès-Fandène-Notto-Keur Mousseu. This information sheds light on the extent of land allocations to political and public figures in the region, raising concerns about social justice and the right to decent housing.

President Faye strongly condemned what he perceived as an attack on social justice and called for a reevaluation of the land allocations in the area. The revelation has sparked a debate about the fairness of land distribution and the need for transparency in the allocation process.
