Seven Chicago businesses robbed in under an hour

A brazen robbery crew struck multiple businesses in Chicago early Thursday morning, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake. The crime spree began at 5:30 a.m. when the robbers targeted a Dunkin’ Donuts on the Near West Side, swiftly moving on to hit a Starbucks near the Ogilvie Transportation Center just 15 minutes later.

The crew, described as four to five men, then proceeded to rob several other businesses including another Dunkin’ Donuts, a convenience store, and a gas station. Armed with guns and wearing masks, gloves, jeans, and hoodies, the robbers made off with cash from registers and unsuspecting customers.

Despite the quick succession of robberies, lasting only 45 minutes, Chicago Police had not made any arrests by the afternoon. Businesses in the area were urged to ensure their surveillance cameras were in working order to aid in the investigation.

One Circle K employee recounted a harrowing experience where three of the robbers brandished guns and stole a mere $47 from the register before fleeing in a silver Nissan sedan. The employee’s description matched that of other witnesses at the various crime scenes.

As the community reels from the brazen acts of violence, Chicago Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist in identifying the suspects. The sheer audacity and speed of the robberies have left residents on edge, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and security measures in the area.
