Seven Chicago businesses robbed in under an hour

A brazen robbery crew struck multiple businesses in Chicago early Thursday morning, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake. The crime spree began at 5:30 a.m. when the robbers targeted a Dunkin’ Donuts on the Near West Side, taking cash from the registers and a 21-year-old man inside.

Within the next 45 minutes, the crew hit several more businesses, including a Starbucks near the Ogilvie Transportation Center and another Dunkin’ Donuts on West Roosevelt Road. The robbers were described as a group of four or five men wearing face masks, medical gloves, jeans, and hoodies. They used a silver Nissan sedan as a getaway car and were armed with guns.

The crime spree culminated in a hold-up at a Circle K convenience store in North Center, where the robbers stole $47 from the register before fleeing the scene. Despite the quick succession of robberies, no arrests had been made hours later.

Chicago Police are urging businesses to ensure their surveillance cameras are in working order and are asking anyone with information on the robberies to contact Belmont Area detectives. The community is on edge as they await updates on the investigation into this brazen and coordinated series of crimes.
