Indian badminton star P. V. Sindhu is all set to make her mark at the upcoming Paris Olympics, as she secured her place in the prestigious event for the third consecutive time. The Badminton World Federation released the final ‘Paris Ranking Lists’ on Tuesday, with Sindhu ranking 12th amongst the Top 16 shuttlers who have automatically qualified for the women’s singles event.

Sindhu, who previously won a silver in Rio 2016 and a bronze in Tokyo 2021, will be looking to add another medal to her collection in Paris. Joining her in the men’s singles event are H.S. Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, who claimed the ninth and 13th spots, respectively.

In the doubles events, Asian Games gold medallists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty secured the third spot amongst the Top 8 men’s doubles pairs who have automatically qualified. Meanwhile, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto grabbed the 13th spot in the women’s doubles event.

Despite the strong representation in various categories, there will be no Indian pair competing in the mixed doubles event at the Paris Olympics. With the stage set for an exciting competition, Indian badminton fans can look forward to cheering on their favorite shuttlers as they aim for glory on the international stage.
