Seville Derby Ends in 1-1 Draw between Real Betis and Sevilla in La Liga

In a thrilling Seville derby, Real Betis was left frustrated in its quest for a European place after a 1-1 draw against Sevilla on Sunday. Despite being awarded a penalty kick shortly after Sevilla’s equalizer, Betis saw the call reversed with the help of video review, much to the disappointment of the home fans. The match marked the fourth consecutive draw between the two rivals, with both teams unable to secure a victory.

Sevilla, currently in 13th place, managed to open a 12-point gap to the relegation zone with five rounds remaining in the season. Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Friday extended their lead at the top of the table to 13 points over second-place Girona.
