Seymour resident to compete in fitness contest

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Seymour native, Jason McDonald, is making waves in the national Mr. Health and Fitness competition as he vies for the chance to win $20,000 and be featured in Muscle and Fitness magazine. Currently in the Top 15 overall and third in his group, McDonald is relying heavily on votes to secure his spot in the next round.

Having lived in Linton for the past three years, McDonald’s passion for fitness stems from his childhood love of the “Rocky” movie and the “Dragonball Z” TV series. Now a personal trainer with NASM, he believes in treating the body as a temple and advocates for regular exercise as a form of self-care.

McDonald’s diverse fitness routine includes jogging, martial arts, and weight training, all of which contribute to his overall well-being. If he were to win the competition, he plans to use the prize money to cover expenses for his new job as a producer at Fox59 News in Indianapolis, as well as invest in a gym membership and contribute to his local community.

With daily voting opportunities available to the public, McDonald is rallying support for his bid to win the competition. Voters can visit his dedicated voting page or support the B+ Foundation, which aids families affected by childhood cancer.

As the competition heats up, McDonald is determined to showcase his dedication to fitness and inspire others to prioritize their health. The next cut-off for the competition is on May 30, where the Top 10 contestants will be announced, bringing McDonald one step closer to his goal.
