Shah secures national runner-up title as Big Red finishes historic run at national championships

The Denison University men’s tennis team had an impressive showing at the NCAA Division III Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. The team made history by reaching the Elite Eight for the first time, showcasing their talent and determination on the court.

Sophomore Kael Shah stood out in the individual championships, finishing as the national runner-up in the Men’s Tennis Singles Championship. Shah’s journey to the final included impressive victories over top-ranked opponents, demonstrating his skill and composure under pressure.

Teaming up with classmate Ethan Green, Shah also made a strong run in the Doubles Championship, reaching the semifinals before falling short. The duo’s performance earned them All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, highlighting their teamwork and chemistry on the court.

In the team competition, Denison faced a tough challenge against the University of Chicago in the quarterfinals. Despite a strong showing in doubles, including a perfect record for the pairing of Jacob Patterson and Andy Mackler, Denison ultimately fell to Chicago in singles matches.
