Shakira and Bizarrap Wow Fans at Coachella Music Festival
The first weekend of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, was filled with excitement as Colombian pop icon Shakira took the stage with Argentine record producer and songwriter Bizarrap. The duo delivered a show-stopping performance of their collaboration, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” much to the delight of fans in attendance.
Earlier this year, there were rumors that Shakira would headline Coachella in 2024, but those hopes were dashed when the festival reportedly declined to book her for the gig. However, Bizarrap extended a special invitation to Shakira to perform their hit track, which aimed at her ex-partner, footballer Gerard Piqué. The performance marked a significant return for Shakira, who hadn’t released an album since 2017.
The song reached No. 1 in 16 countries and became a milestone for both Bizarrap and Shakira. It was Bizarrap’s first Top 10 single and Shakira’s fifth, as well as her first all-Spanish track on the US Billboard Hot 100 since her collaboration with Beyoncé.
During the performance, Shakira rose from a podium with the words “La Loba Se Viene” (“The She-Wolf is coming”) displayed on the background screen. The crowd went wild as they delivered an electrifying performance. After the set, Shakira expressed her gratitude to her fans and Bizarrap for the opportunity to perform at the festival.
With the announcement of her world tour promoting her latest album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” Shakira is set to become a stadium sellout act.
