The visit was met with a warm reception from top Emirati dignitaries, including President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the vice president, deputy prime minister, and chairman of the presidential court.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE, with a particular focus on trade and investment opportunities. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to engage in discussions with the UAE ruler and other prominent Emirati officials, business leaders, and heads of financial institutions during his visit.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) released a statement detailing the agenda for the visit, which includes meetings with key stakeholders in the UAE to explore potential investment opportunities. The government is seeking billions of dollars in investments from Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to boost the country’s foreign reserves and stimulate industrial growth.

One of the key initiatives highlighted during the visit is the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a civil-military-led council aimed at providing a streamlined process for foreign investors. The SIFC has identified several sectors, including agriculture, mines and minerals, energy, and others, as potential areas for investment from Saudi and UAE investors.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to deliver a speech addressing the importance of strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and the UAE. The speech will be broadcast live on PTV News at 2:30 PM PST, allowing viewers to hear firsthand the government’s plans for attracting foreign investment and promoting economic growth.

Overall, the visit to the UAE is seen as a crucial step in Pakistan’s efforts to attract foreign investment and expand its economic partnerships with key Gulf countries. The meetings and discussions held during the visit are expected to pave the way for increased collaboration and investment opportunities between Pakistan and the UAE, benefiting both countries’ economies in the long run.
