Shell’s 2024 Business Accelerator Chooses 25 Louisiana Entrepreneurs

Shell LiveWIRE Louisiana is making waves in the local entrepreneurial scene, empowering 25 entrepreneurs from 13 parishes in Louisiana to drive economic growth and positive impacts within their communities. The program, a collaboration between Shell USA, Inc., and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC), aims to provide these entrepreneurs with the tools and resources needed to thrive in their respective industries.

The 2024 Louisiana cohort of Shell LiveWIRE represents a diverse group of entrepreneurs spanning various sectors such as architecture, beauty, construction, fashion, food and beverage, health, insurance, landscaping, hospitality, and security. These individuals are the backbone of economic development in their communities, creating employment opportunities, delivering unique services and products, and contributing to the overall growth of their neighborhoods.

Emma Lewis, Shell SVP US Chemicals and Products, highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses, stating, “Small businesses backed by local entrepreneurs are the foundation for economic development.” She emphasized the value and impact of homegrown businesses in driving employment and growth within communities.

The program, which is active in 13 rural parishes in South Louisiana, aims to connect participants with support networks and resources to help them build and expand their businesses. The LSBDC, the local implementing partner for the program, provides a tailored curriculum focused on marketing, finance, and team management to support the entrepreneurs on their journey to success.
