Longtime Deputy Director of the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Sharon Shepherd, will be bidding farewell to her post at the end of the week after 16 and a half years of service. In an email blast sent out to Chamber members on Friday, Shepherd announced her departure, expressing mixed emotions about leaving a role she has cherished for so long.
During her tenure, Shepherd has worked under several Chamber presidents and has been instrumental in serving the organization’s more than 600 members. She believes that the Chamber plays a vital role in the community and is confident that it will continue to thrive and support local businesses.
Shepherd will be taking on a new position at Kings Grant Retirement Community but plans to remain in the area. Reflecting on her time at the Chamber, she expressed gratitude for the friendships she has made and the rewarding experiences she has had with members of the organization.
To honor Shepherd’s contributions, a farewell party has been scheduled at the Chamber Office in Martinsville on Wednesday. The Chamber has invited its members to join in celebrating Shepherd’s journey and wishing her well in her future endeavors.
As Shepherd prepares to embark on a new chapter in her career, she expressed her appreciation for the support and collaboration she has received from Chamber members, making her job both fulfilling and enjoyable.
