USF golfer Shubham Jaglan has taken a unique path to success, overcoming obstacles and challenges along the way. Born in India, Jaglan began playing golf at the young age of six. Despite facing setbacks when his local golf academy closed down, he didn’t let that deter him from pursuing his passion.
Instead, Jaglan honed his skills by practicing on a homemade putting green in his backyard and watching instructional golf videos on YouTube. His dedication paid off as he became one of the best junior golfers in the world. Determined to further his career, Jaglan reached out to college coaches, including Bulls head coach Steve Bradley, who recognized his talent and potential.
Now a junior at USF, Jaglan is grateful for the supportive environment and resources available to him. He credits his family and coaches for guiding him through his journey and helping him stay focused despite early success. As he and his teammates prepare for the AAC championship at Pelican Golf Club, Jaglan is eager to showcase his talents and contribute to the team’s pursuit of a conference title.
Senior teammate Sam Nicholson emphasizes the importance of a positive mindset and mental approach in achieving success on the course. With the Bulls aiming for their sixth conference title, Nicholson believes that playing freely and staying focused will be key to their performance. As Jaglan and his teammates tee off at the championship, they are determined to make their mark and continue their winning tradition.
