Sigourney Weaver in Talks to Join Cast of ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

American actor Sigourney Weaver is reportedly in talks to join the cast of ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’, the first Star Wars movie to go into production since 2019’s ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Favreau, the creator of The Mandalorian, is set to direct the film, which is scheduled to begin production later this year. The movie will be produced by Favreau, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy, and Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni.

‘The Mandalorian’ premiered in November 2019 as Disney+’s flagship show, with the character Baby Yoda becoming a pop cultural sensation. Pedro Pascal stars in the series as Din Djarin, also known as The Mandalorian, who reluctantly cares for Grogu. The show’s third season premiered last year and has spawned several spinoffs, including The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.

Weaver, a three-time Academy Award nominee, is best known for her role in the Alien franchise. Her portrayal of Ripley in the sci-fi horror classics has been groundbreaking for screen heroines. Pascal is expected to return as Djarin, although his schedule is full with other projects, including shooting The Fantastic Four for Marvel Studios.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Weaver’s potential involvement in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’, as the Star Wars universe continues to expand with new and exciting projects.
