Angelina Fiasco stood out with a 2 for 3 performance, scoring two runs for the Golden Falcons. The pitching duo of Hannah Melquist and Mylie Zaranek combined for a four-hitter, shutting down Dunkirk’s offense.
In another softball game, Southwestern’s Arianna Silakowski made history by setting a single-game record for strikeouts. Silakowski struck out 17 Salamanca batters in a dominant performance that led her team to a 12-0 victory.
Meanwhile, in Westfield, senior Tanleigh Bestine hit a home run and junior Eva Gnadzinski reached a milestone by collecting her 100th career hit on Senior Day. Westfield secured a 17-1 win over Cassadaga Valley in Division 2 West action.
Across the league, there were more exciting games as Randolph survived a late rally from Forestville to secure a 7-6 victory, and Chautauqua Lake defeated Frewsburg 5-1 with Cayzlee Johnson leading the way with 11 strikeouts.
