Simone Biles Dominates U.S. Classic in Olympic Tune-Up

As the countdown to the Paris Olympics continues, Simone Biles showed she is more than ready to compete for her third Olympic team with a dominant performance at the U.S. Classic over the weekend. The gymnastics superstar, who is the 2016 Olympic champion, showcased her incredible skills and precision, posting an impressive all-around score of 59.500, nearly two points ahead of her closest competitor, Shilese Jones.

Biles, 27, wowed the crowd with her signature moves, including the Yurchenko double pike on vault and a triple-twisting double-flip tumbling pass. Despite a few minor mistakes, such as taking big steps back on her vault dismount and landing out of bounds on the triple-double, Biles proved once again why she is considered the standard in the sport.

With her performance at the U.S. Classic, Biles is a virtual lock to secure a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The real question now is who will join her in France for the Olympics.

While Shilese Jones showed promise with a strong performance at the U.S. Classic, other contenders like Gabby Douglas, Sunisa Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Jade Carey will be looking to secure their spots on the team in the upcoming U.S. Championships and Olympic Trials.

Unfortunately, the competition was not without its setbacks, as Konnor McClain had to exit the event due to an Achilles injury suffered during warm-ups. Despite the challenges, the road to Paris is shaping up to be an exciting and competitive journey for these talented gymnasts.
