Sinner and Alcaraz overcome injury concerns

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner is gearing up for the French Open despite facing a recent hip injury. Sinner, who missed the Rome tournament due to the injury, expressed his happiness at being able to participate in the prestigious event.

In a recent statement, Sinner mentioned, “The hip feels good. The last tests we made, they were very positive. That’s why I’m here. For sure, the general physical shape is not there where I want it to be, but we cannot make miracles in less than 10 days before the first-round match.”

Sinner is set to face American Chris Eubanks in his opening match, a player he has previously defeated at the US Open. Despite acknowledging the tough challenge Eubanks poses, Sinner is focused on finding his rhythm and mental readiness for the tournament.

On the other hand, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning Wimbledon champion, is also dealing with an arm injury. However, Alcaraz expressed optimism about his recovery, stating, “I’m feeling better and better. At least I can practice, hit balls without pain.”

Alcaraz, who is set to face a qualifier or lucky loser in the first round, emphasized the importance of Roland Garros for him and his determination to perform well in the Grand Slam tournaments.

Both Sinner and Alcaraz are determined to overcome their respective injuries and put up a strong performance at the French Open, showcasing their resilience and commitment to the sport.
