Skanska, a global construction and development company, has announced the promotion of Clay Haden to Business Unit President (BUP) for Skanska USA Building, effective June 1, 2024. Haden will be taking over from Paul Hewins, who has decided to retire after a successful career with the company.

In his new role, Haden will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of Skanska USA Building, including setting business strategy, ensuring safety and financial performance, fostering a values-based culture, and positioning the business unit for long-term success. He will report directly to Skanska Group Executive Vice President Richard Kennedy.

Haden, who has been with Skanska since 2006, has held various senior roles within the company, including General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer. He has played a key role in shaping the company and has a deep understanding of its operations and values.

“I am honored to continue serving the incredible people in this organization as the new BUP,” said Haden. “Our success is driven by our people, who work hard every day to deliver outstanding results for our customers.”

Richard Kennedy, Skanska Group Executive President, expressed excitement about the positive momentum at Skanska in the US and looks forward to working with Haden to build on this success. He also thanked Paul Hewins for his 25 years of service and the lasting impact he has had on the company.

Skanska is known for its innovative and sustainable solutions in project development and construction. With approximately 27,000 employees worldwide, the company is committed to shaping the way people live, work, and connect.
