Small Businesses Call on Congress to Tackle Inflation

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is calling on Congress and the White House to take action to help small businesses combat inflation, which has become a major concern for small business owners across the country.

In a recent statement, NFIB outlined key measures that could provide relief to small businesses grappling with rising costs. Small business owner Stephanie Camarillo, who runs Molly Maid in Boise, Idaho, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the challenges her business faces due to inflation and the need for regulatory and financial relief.

NFIB’s recommendations include halting costly regulations imposed by the Biden Administration, ensuring long-term price stability by making the Small Business Deduction permanent, addressing anti-competitive practices in the credit card network ecosystem, and reducing energy costs for small businesses by preventing further increases.

Additionally, NFIB is advocating for the passage of legislation to lower healthcare costs for small businesses, which have been disproportionately affected by high healthcare expenses.

By implementing these recommendations, Congress and the White House can provide much-needed support to small businesses, which are the backbone of the American economy.
