Small Businesses Leveraging AI to Compete with Big Corporations

Micro businesses are increasingly turning to generative AI to level the playing field against larger brands, according to a recent survey by GoDaddy’s Venture Forward. The survey of over 3,000 business owners with ten or fewer employees revealed that 44 percent believe AI will aid in their business growth over the next year, with 50 percent already experimenting with the technology.

The top use cases for generative AI among micro businesses include content production, data summarization, marketing strategy, and business insights. Alexandra Rosen, Senior Director at GoDaddy Venture Forward, noted that many small businesses are using AI to handle tasks they previously hired people for, particularly in the realm of marketing.

While some may fear that AI could negatively impact the job market, Rosen believes that the technology is actually freeing up small businesses to focus on more important tasks and hire for specialized work. This shift could ultimately lead to sustained or increased job openings in the future.

Although the AI landscape is still evolving, the potential for small businesses to streamline repetitive tasks and operate more efficiently is clear. As the technology continues to advance, micro businesses may find themselves in a better position to compete with larger brands and grow their operations.
