Jeep has officially entered the electric vehicle market with the launch of the all-new 2024 Wagoneer S, its first electric SUV for the U.S. market. The iconic off-road brand unveiled the Wagoneer S at an event in New York City, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards electrification.

Built on Jeep’s new STLA Large platform, the Wagoneer S is equipped with a 100.5-kWh battery pack, two electric motors for part-time four-wheel drive, and a 400-volt electrical architecture. The SUV boasts impressive performance figures, including 600 horsepower, 617 pound-feet of torque, and over 300 miles of driving range on a full charge. It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and offers fast charging capabilities, with the ability to DC fast-charge from 20% to 80% in as little as 23 minutes.

In terms of design, the Wagoneer S resembles a sleeker version of the full-size Wagoneer SUV but is actually closer in size to the two-row Grand Cherokee. It features Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille with ambient lighting accents and a rear wing that contributes to its aerodynamic profile. Inside, the SUV offers a high-tech cabin with over 45 inches of digital displays and seating for five with synthetic leather upholstery.

The Wagoneer S is set to arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall, initially as Launch Edition models priced at $71,995. These models come fully loaded with amenities like heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver-assistance features. Production will take place at Stellantis’ Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico, making the Wagoneer S eligible for the Federal Electric Car Tax Credit for North American-made EVs. Jeep enthusiasts and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike can look forward to experiencing the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S on the roads soon.
