Maryknoll Softball Star Jenna Sniffen Hits Three Home Runs in Key Victory

In a thrilling matchup between Maryknoll and Kamehameha in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, Jenna Sniffen stole the show with an impressive performance on Tuesday. Despite the windy conditions, Sniffen managed to hit three home runs and drive in five runs to lead her team to a 9-4 victory.

The game was crucial as both teams were tied atop the ILH standings, making the win even more significant for Maryknoll. Sniffen, a University of Arizona-bound senior, showcased her power by hitting balls over the fence to all fields, including into the wind in left field.

After her stellar performance, Kamehameha opted to intentionally walk Sniffen in the top of the seventh inning, a testament to her dominance at the plate. Maryknoll coach John Uekawa praised Sniffen for her leadership and motivation on the field.

Freshman pitcher Molly Davi also played a key role in the victory, pitching a six-hitter and receiving praise from her teammates for her stellar performance. Freshman Sheyzhelle Iokia added a two-run homer in the sixth inning to further solidify Maryknoll’s lead.

With three games remaining in the ILH regular season, Maryknoll is in a strong position to secure the regular-season title and a berth in the state tournament. Coach Uekawa expressed confidence in his young team, highlighting their closeness and potential for success in the postseason.
