Five Muskegon-area softball teams clinched district championships over the weekend, setting the stage for an exciting regional semifinal showdown this coming weekend. The teams are gearing up to battle it out in hopes of extending their seasons and securing a spot in the state quarterfinals.
In Division 1, the regional tournament at Hudsonville will feature Reeths-Puffer facing off against Byron Center at 10 a.m., followed by Rockford taking on Hudsonville at noon. The winners of these matchups will go head-to-head in the finals at 2 p.m., with the victor advancing to the state quarterfinals at Central Michigan University on June 11.
Moving on to Division 2, the regional tournament at Fremont will see Oakridge going up against Grand Rapids Catholic Central at 10 a.m., while Allendale will take on Newaygo at noon. The winners of these games will battle it out in the finals at 2 p.m., with the champion advancing to the state quarterfinals at Ferris State University on June 11.
In Division 3, the regional tournament at Kingsley will feature matchups between Traverse City St. Francis and Evart, as well as LeRoy Pine River and Hart. The winners will face off in the finals at 2 p.m., with the victor moving on to the state quarterfinals at Cadillac on June 11.
