South Africa and Botswana sprinters secure spots in Olympics with impressive speed and flair

In a display of Southern African dominance, Botswana and South Africa shone brightly at the World Athletics Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas. The men’s 4x400m relay saw Botswana’s team, led by Isaac Makwala, deliver a stunning performance, culminating in a victory and a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Letsile Tebogo’s remarkable sprint and Leungo Scotch’s seamless baton pass were instrumental in securing the win, with Bayapo Ndori anchoring the team to glory.

Not to be outdone, South Africa’s relay team, featuring Gardeo Isaacs, Zakithi Nene, Lythe Pillay, and Antonie Nortje, put up a fierce fight, clinching silver in the event with a season’s best time.
