South Williamsport’s baseball team delivered an impressive performance on Monday, defeating Montgomery 14-3 in a high school baseball game. The game featured standout performances from both teams, with South’s Noah Turner pitching a three-hit complete game and Montgomery’s Caleb Neidig going 4 for 4 at the plate.
Despite falling behind 2-0 in the third inning, South Williamsport rallied back, scoring six runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. The team went on to score 11 straight runs at one point, showcasing their offensive prowess and solidifying their victory over Montgomery.
Neidig, who also played stellar defense, expressed confidence in Turner’s pitching, stating, “When he’s throwing, things are good.” Turner, on the other hand, credited his team’s strong defense for helping him settle into the game after a shaky start in the first inning.
South’s coach, Casey Waller, commended the team’s performance, highlighting their resilience and ability to bounce back from early setbacks. Turner’s pitching dominance, coupled with the team’s offensive outburst in the later innings, secured the win for South Williamsport.
The victory marked a significant milestone for South, as they handed Montgomery their first loss in 15 games and improved their own record to 9-4. The team’s collective effort and determination were evident throughout the game, setting a positive tone for the remainder of the season.
