Southwest introduces 4 new routes and discontinues 2 others in recent network update

Southwest Airlines is shaking up its route map with the addition of four new routes and the elimination of two others in the coming months. The Dallas-based carrier is expanding its network from Nashville International Airport (BNA) with daily flights to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), Richmond International Airport (RIC), and Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP). Additionally, Southwest will launch a new route from RIC to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) on a twice-daily basis.

While these new routes offer exciting opportunities for travelers, the airline is also discontinuing service on two routes: Atlanta to Little Rock, Arkansas, and Chicago to Tampa. Southwest is making these changes to focus on serving a greater number of nonstop markets, even if it means reducing frequencies in existing nonstop markets.
