Saratoga YMCA’s Livestrong Cancer Survivor Program is Making a Real Difference
Saratoga’s YMCA has long been a pillar of the community, offering a wide range of programs and activities for residents of all ages. Among these programs, one stands out for its impact and significance: the Livestrong Cancer Survivor Program.
This 12-week program, designed for individuals living with cancer or beyond, goes beyond traditional exercise routines. Led by certified fitness instructors, the program takes a holistic approach to healing, addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by cancer survivors. It also fosters a supportive community where participants can connect with others who understand their journey.
But the impact of the Livestrong program extends beyond the individual level. It serves as a model of excellence in survivorship care, raising awareness about the importance of survivorship support services. By advocating for greater access to care and resources, the program is driving social change and making a difference in the lives of Saratoga residents.
In addition to the Livestrong program, the YMCA also offers a variety of other specialized programs catering to diverse needs, such as the Diabetes Prevention Program, Arthritis Aquatic Program, and EnhanceFitness for older adults. These programs are designed to improve health and well-being for all members of the community.
As the mayor of Saratoga, I am proud to support the YMCA and its mission. The Livestrong Cancer Survivor Program is just one example of how the Y is making a real difference in the lives of residents, providing a place for connection, healing, and support. It is programs like these that truly make the YMCA a hub for community well-being and empowerment.
